Welcome to the Contemporary clocks Page These clocks are all made from new materials - Laser cut Stainless steel - Wood and anything that looks nice. As a rule I never use Plastic so you won't find any of that here. Still a new area to the site but expect it to grow as I add more clocks.

AMIDALA-ONE £695

Large IN-18 Nixie Tube Clock

The AMIDALA-ONE Nixie clock, contemporary design with a large polished Stainless Steel base and the tall narrow Russian IN-18 Nixie tubes. Full colour under lighting, programmable on the hour.

As this is not one of my usual Steampunk Designs, it is not a one off piece and I can make these to order any time. I can either supply directly if required or put one in the Etsy shop if you wish to purchase.

As well as the time, the clock displays the date and also temperature. Fully featured, can be connected to a GPS antenna and also a room occupancy sensor so will only come on when there is someone in the room to see it!

Very stylish clock, hand built and based on time served PV electronics that power all my clocks. The clock measures 30cm X 8cm by about 10cm tall and comes fully assembled and tested. Available on Etsy here

Contemporary Desk Clock - Stainless Steel - SOLD

Can make to order

Some time in the planning, but the Stainless Steel contemporary clocks are now available. Available in either Desk or wall mounting and made to order with about a 2 week delivery.

Beautiful clean brushed Stainless Steel, sleek lines and a minimalist design. Utilising the legendary ITT GN-4 tubes, make a really striking display with the back lighting.

Based on the PV electronics 'Halo' kit the clock displays HH:MM:SS and then reverts to date DD:MM:YY. As they are built to order, you can have any colour back light fitted.

The front panel is made from a single piece of Laser cut Stainless, and the electronics are housed in a smaller laser cut module on the rear.

Ornate 'Grace' Clock - SOLD -

With Gorgeous Rodan C66 Nixies

This is a 'Grace' clock, so called because of the graceful appearance. Made out of a silver plated jewellery box and ideal for a bedside or small table clock.

The Nixie tubes are lit from underneath with full RBG Leds which you can program to change colour on the hour, or to cycle through all the colour combinations.

This Grace uses the very sought after and dainty Rodan C66 Nixie tubes from Japan. They have a very fine rectangular mesh anode, rather than the usual honeycomb grid found in most Nixies.

Contemporary Desk Clock - Stainless Steel - SOLD

Limited Red Edition Can make to Order

Following on from the Blue Contemporary clock, this is a special limited Red edition. It uses the Red GN-4 tubes and Red LED back lighting behind the tubes for maximum redness!

Looks superb on a glass table, or in any modern contemporary setting. Minimalist design and definitely an eye catcher. Limited as I only have so many of the red tubes.

Between the HH and MM and SS are some tiny Neon tubes to act as the colon separators. The Back light brightness is also programmable within the settings

As a side by side comparison, the red and the blue. There is also a red edition wall mounting clock available, I just haven't loaded the pictures yet!

Contemporary Wall Clock - Stainless Steel - SOLD

Can make to Order

This is the Wall mounting version of the desk Clock. It measures a generous 25cm X 25cm and has a subtle curve that appears to float just off the wall.

Suits a variety of rooms, I've got one in my Kitchen but it looks just as good in the lounge or study. I will tidy the mains lead a little though :)

Between the HH and MM and SS are some tiny IN-2 Nixie tubes to act as the colon separators. The Back light brightness is also programmable within the settings

Just as a point of interest, the Tubes are sourced from Ex MOD / Navy Missile guidance - Launch and tracking equipment and left over from the Cold war!

Ornate Silver Clock 'Grace' #2 - SOLD

This is a very pretty little clock, housed in a silver plated jewellery box. Has multi coloured back lighting and looks stunning. The 1st and 3rd ones were built as a request, so I made another and named it Grace.

This clock uses 6 off IN-14 tubes which offer a soft and warm display as you can see. The clock is powered from the excellent 'QTC Clock' Kit.

Hidden under the clock are 4 little push buttons used for setting the time and all the other parameters. The only thing visible is the power cable on the rear.

This image is taken in much brighter light, it details the case which you can see is very shiny and ornate.

Ornate Silver Clocks 'Grace' No 1 and 3 - SOLD

This is a very pretty little clock, housed in a silver plated jewellery box. Has multi coloured backlighting and looks stunning.

This clock uses 6 off GNP-7A tubes which offer a very bright and crisp display as you can see. The clock is powered from a 'QTC Clock' Kit.

Hidden under the clock are 4 little pushbuttons used for setting the time and all the other parameters. I had great fun putting this one together!

As the hour has changed, the backlighting has also changed colour. It is completely programmable as to what colours come on when. I can make more of these - just email if you want one

Grace Clock Number 3 - this one features pretty little XN-3 tubes that have the correct 5 and a very fine anode mesh.

This was made to order for a customer in Singapore. The tubes are a very nice match for the casing.

If you want a Grace clock - just drop me an email.
