Jodrell grandfather Nixie clock
This is one of the collaborative pieces designed with artist/engineer Dan Morrison of BLOTT WORKS and is intended as a contemporary take on the traditional grandfather clock. It has been designed and handmade from the ground up with aluminium, oak, brass, and stainless steel detailing.
This floor standing Nixie clock has been named ‘Jodrell’ as a nod to the British scientific observatory at Jodrell Bank because it has the appearance of something that is waiting patiently for incoming extraterrestrial communications.
Jodrell uses four IN-12 Nixie tubes set in a circular brass plate, is WiFi enabled for time synchronisation and has a switchable back light which bounces reflected light from the dish. When the main light is turned off it is replaced with a rotating glow that indicates the passing seconds.
Available with different materials for the clock base including oak, leather and textile, plus various colour options.
Limited edition of 15.
